Traditional fractal flames have a distinctive, often ephemeral appearance. I wanted to use iterated fuction systems to create images that were not easily recognizable as fractals. This is accomplished by creating more solid forms through substitutions and by superimposing the results over textures to create an appearance of the fractal being painted onto a surface.
